Home, Sweet Home!

I’m finally settled in our new apartment! An ENTIRE 42 days behind schedule. Phew.

Emmaline has been out of town, so her room and the living room aren’t completely finished. We are waiting on finding a new bookcase and bar cart, and then maybe we will be 100% complete! In the meantime, I’ve been working on my room! Here’s a quick little video I took one day…

I only had to buy the white Ikea shelving, the mirror, and a few storage boxes that are in the closet. The rest of the stuff I already had from home or made as a DIY project! Yes, it does look pretty childish, but I love the colors! The brightness is so cheerful, especially when the weather rarely is. Plus, I want to embrace my youth as long as possible! What 30 year old can get away with having such a silly room? Here are a few close up photos of my favorite features of my room.

My jewelry corner! I made both of the clocks (Adam Brody and King Abdullah II of Jordan) and the #SWAG; art (made out of paint samples!) I also made the necklace holder and earring picture frame. It is so easy to have all of my jewelry in one place!

I have a tapestry of the world on my wall and I decided to glue pompoms to all of the major cities I’ve been to! I had to be a bit conservative on the US cities, but it made me realize I need to visit the south!

My makeup station. The board on the wall is magnetic and I glued magnets to the backs of all of my makeup products. No more cluttered drawers or countertops! I filled the squares of the table with two boxes to hold my underwear/socks and jeans. The other squares have my perfume, lotion, nail polish, and lipstick collections!

I’ve had a lot of fun decorating the common areas, too. We now have an adorable Easter wreath hanging on our front door to be festive! Emmaline has a TON of plants, so they definitely help brighten the place up. Thankfully nothing else has broken and everything has been smooth sailing!
